Husky Center Line Weight Distribution System Review and Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to walk you through how to install the Husky weight distribution system on your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Weight distribution is designed to take added weight from the back of the truck and put it back onto the trailer. The reason you want that is if you have too much weight on the back of the truck, it's going to sag the back of the truck. It's going to raise the front. You're going to get unnecessary wear and tear on your front tires. more

Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System Installation - on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be installing Reese's straight line weight distribution system with sway control. This weight distribution system is going to take the weight of your trailer and redistribute it from just being on the rear axle back here at the hitch onto both your front and rear axles. Now, you're asking, "What does this mean to me" Well, this is going to make your truck sit level. So it's going to have a lot of benefits. When your truck is loaded down in the back, it pops the front up. And that changes the geometry of your tires, and that negatively affects your handling and braking performance.By bringing it back down to center, your geometry for your tires returns to normal, so you're getting proper contact of your tires on the road. more

Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video

Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Curt TruTrack weight distribution system with complete sway control. Part number is C17500. The Curt TruTrack weight distribution system is going to use spring bars to brackets here to help distribute that weight that we're getting on this rear up through all the axles, the axles on our trailer, and the two axles on our truck. What makes this kind of unique is we've eliminated the chains, so we're not going to get that unwanted movement that we sometimes get out of our spring bars when they're connected with the chains, to where they'll kind of move side to side. That's going to help us with tracking, but also with the bracket system it holds this rigid back here, so that that movement's gone. It's eliminating some of that sway. Also here in the front, we've got the small ball detent. This is designed to sit into a pocket right here. more
